What to Expect
At Garden Park, we love to worship the Lord. Our 9:30 service is traditional in nature. We sing classic hymns and choruses. At 10:30, we have a short break so that you can meet people, talk with your friends, or visit our “No Fear Café” in the Foyer. The café has coffee, tea, hot and cold drinks and sometimes, donuts or other treats! The 10:50 service is contemporary, with a full band and praise team, and we sing songs you hear on contemporary Christian radio.
The message Pastor John brings is the same in each service. We celebrate the Lord’s supper, or communion, in each service. Guests are invited you to join us in this act of remembrance. We also receive an offering. These funds are used to pay our bills and support mission work around the world. We don’t expect visitors to be prepared to contribute, but we practice tithing to the local church as an important part of our experience as Christians. Each Sunday, we give people the opportunity to express their desire to make a decision to accept Christ as their Savior, to officially join our church family, or to come and have someone pray with them about concerns of their heart.
You will encounter many friendly people at Garden Park. The volunteers who staff our Welcome Center can give you information about Sunday School classes and child care arrangements. They may ask you to fill out a “Welcome” sheet that just helps us get to know you a little better.
You are welcome at Garden Park just as you are. You will see men in suits and khakis, and women in dresses and slacks. You’ll see teens, adults and senior citizens in jeans. In the summer you’ll see folks wearing shorts. The most important thing for you to wear is an attitude that is open to what God has for you when you meet Him in worship.
We love kids of all ages! The future of our church rests in the hands of today’s young people. We provide quality, safe care for infants and preschoolers, and have age-appropriate classes for students in Kindergarten through high school. Jr. & Sr. High students participate in youth groups that include Bible study, service projects, mission trips and fun activities. Special retreats and summer conferences also contribute to the spiritual growth of our students.
