Office Administration

You may be surprised to learn how many ministries generate from within the church office. Publishing, website, information systems, event organization, records, building use, accounting, supply & curriculum ordering and more...all of these tasks come from the office. If you have good telephone or computer skills, proofreading ability, or enjoy organizing, we can use your help! Whether you have a lot of time or just a little, there's a job for you.

Prayer

The Prayer ministry desires to educate the church about prayer, build up and encourage her by coming alongside, and help align the church with God's will. Our Prayer Ministry Team organizes teams of volunteers who pray throughout our church building and with our Senior Pastor, every Sunday morning before worship services begin. The team also presents special gatherings where the church body comes together for an extended time of worship and prayer for the needs of the church. To be part of the team, you only need a heart open to meet and talk with God.

  • Prayer Warriors - Each Sunday morning, a team or two or more Prayer Warriors prays with Pastor John Thybault, and they also pray for our worship team, for Sunday School classes, and other needs that God puts on their hearts. Our Prayer Warriors are a vital part of the church. Anyone can volunteer to be a Prayer Warrior!

    Thursday School

This service ministry provides young families in the community with a quality, Bible-based preschool for 3-, 4-, and 5-year old children. Thursday School consists of two 12-week semesters and meets on Thursdays from 9:15-11:30 a.m.. Children enjoy age-appropriate Bible lessons, crafts, music and snack time. If you love working with preschool children, we would love to talk with you!

    Welcome

When new guests come to Garden Park, we strive to help them feel "at home" and do this in several ways.

  • Greeters - A friendly smile, warm handshake and kind words are offered to both guests and regular attenders as they enter the front doors of the church. If you can shake hands, offer assistance, smile and give words of encouragement, you could serve as a greeter.

  • "No Fear Cafe'" Coffee Bar - Can you pour coffee, open a fridge, do a little clean-up, and most important, smile and say "Good morning"? A friendly greeting and a hot cup o'java or tea can start someone's day right! You can schedule to serve according to your availability, on Sunday mornings.

  • Welcome Center - The Welcome Center is designed to reach out to new guests and help them find their way at our church. This ministry is pivotal in helping newcomers feel comfortable, and in bringing them into the Garden Park family. If you have good communication and hospitality skills, we'd love to have you join our team. Commitment is Sunday mornings for one month.

    Women's Ministry

Our mission is to discover and reinforce Biblical womanhood by creating an environment that encourages women to share their hearts and build authentic relationships. We offer events designed for the women in our church family as well as events to which we invite guests. Activities include Ladies' Night Out, service projects, and fellowship events.

  • Ladies Night Out - An evening of fun, food and friendship with your girlfriends awaits you! Locations vary, usually at a restaurant, and you are encouraged to bring a friend. L.N.O. is once each month during the school year.

    Worship & Praise

The goal of Worship Ministry is to lead the Body of Christ in presenting an offering of praise to God, through music and visual media. Depending upon your gifts and abilities, you may be able to serve in these areas:

  • Technical Staff - Volunteer technicians run our lights, sound equipment, video, computer visuals and graphics. Our technicians serve on Sunday mornings, for special drama/musical presentations, and for other occasions such as weddings and seminars.
  • Contact: Darren Stalhood

  • Musicians & Vocalists - Our worship music is enhanced with a variety of instrumentation from studio piano to a full contemporary band with guitars, drums, keyboard, brass and percussion. Those who are vocally talented and able to sing with a group serve by leading worship in both of our services. Once a year we bring together a larger adult choir for an Easter or Christmas musical.

  • Drama - One of the tools we use to help make the truth of Scripture understandable is drama. Sketches, monologues and mime enhance the message of God’s Word. We try to incorporate many types of “performance” skills into our worship and special presentations, so that our talents are used to God’s glory.
